DIFF DROP KITS – INs & OUTs

You have come to this page because you’re probably wondering if you need a diff drop kit for your vehicle. Well, you’ve come to the right place that’s for sure! If you have an Independent Front Suspension (IFS) vehicle such as the latest model Toyota Hilux and have recently lifted it two inches or more, you will need a diff drop kit.

Why is a diff drop kit so important? Especially if I have a lift kit?

When you raise or lift your IFS vehicle suspension two inches or more, the Constant Velocity (CV) joint is placed on an increased operating angle which accelerates the wear on the CV joint as well as places additional stress on the CV boots that will lead to splitting and premature failure of the CV assembly. If you have replaced your CV shaft assembly before, then we can all agree that it is crazy expensive! So, to minimise unexpected CV failures to your IFS vehicle, a diff drop kit is needed! We have a decent range of diff drop kits available for your support, look for yours now on our vehicle search.

What is a Diff Drop Kit?

Diff drop kit is in its name, it’s usually a bolt on kit that drops your vehicles front diff that helps in reducing the angle of your vehicles CV once lifted or raised. A diff drop kit is a kit full of spacers or brackets that once fitted prevents unnecessary wear to your vehicles CV. It highly reduces the chance of a broken CV or damage to the CV boots which can cause a huge mess.

What are the benefits to a Diff Drop Kit?

As we’ve mentioned before, raising your IFS vehicle two inches or more puts unnecessary strain on its CV assembly. A diff drop kit will prevent premature failure to your vehicles CV and will preserve its original driveshaft strength and durability same to when it was at factory / standard height.

What are the Diff Drop Kits Fulcrum has and how much does it lower the diff by?

We supply and install high quality, Australian designed and manufactured SuperPro bolt on Diff Drop kits. The SuperPro Diff Drop kits corrects the geometry of the front axles and CV’s by lowering the front diff approximately 25mm or more.

Should you grab a diff drop kit for your IFS vehicle?

The answer is YES! If you have lifted your IFS fourbie two inches or more, then it is totally worth grabbing a diff drop kit. There are so many more advantages to dropping your diff then there are negatives. Dropping your diff will preserve your vehicles driveline reliability! It is well worth spending a little now to get a diff drop kit installed by one of our workshops or any of our Fulcrum Authorised Dealers than spending thousands on a new CV. It will not only save your vehicle from premature CV failure but it will keep your cash in your pocket!

If I lift my 4WD do I need a diff drop kit?

Most definitely! If there is a diff drop kit available for your vehicle then grab it alongside your lift kit. Dropping your lifted vehicles diff will preserve its driveline reliability!

Will a diff drop kit protect my CV’s?

Absolutely! Lifting your vehicle two inches or more puts unnecessary strain on its CV assembly. A diff drop kit will prevent premature failure to your vehicles CV and will preserve its original driveshaft strength and durability same to when it was at factory / standard height.

Do I need a diff drop kit for a 3 inch lift?

The simple answer is Yes! You will need a diff drop kit if you have a 3 inch lift. A diff drop kit will help bring everything back into alignment once your vehicle is lifted, will improve the geometry of your suspension, and will also prevent premature failure to your vehicles CV.

Do I need a diff drop kit for a 2 inch lift?

Yes, 110%! You will need a diff drop kit if you have a 2 inch lift. A diff drop kit will help bring everything back into alignment once your vehicle is lifted, will improve the geometry of your suspension, and will also prevent premature failure to your vehicles CV.
