N90 Hilux Lift Kit: 2 Inch, Adjustable and Remote Reservoir Options

The right N90 Hilux lift kit is the one matched to your load and terrain, not just the tallest. Fulcrum stocks the full N90 range, from a 2 inch ReadyStrut kit to remote reservoir setups and simple block spacers, and installs it through our national network. Check out of our full guide to N90 Hilux suspension.

A lift kit is the most popular first upgrade for the new N90 Hilux. It restores the ride height a bar, winch and canopy steal, clears larger tyres and adds control off road. The catch is that a lift kit is only as good as how well it matches your weight and how well it is fitted. Fulcrum carries the whole range and sets it up properly, so you get the lift you paid for without the tyre wear and steering problems a bolt on kit can bring.

What lift kit types suit the N90 Hilux?

There are four choices, and the best one depends on your build. A rear block spacer is the cheapest way to add a small rear lift for towing. A 2 inch (50mm) kit with matched coils and shocks is the sweet spot for most tourers and daily drivers who want a better ride and modest height. A 2 inch ReadyStrut kit adds a height adjustable coilover front so you can dial ride height to your accessory load. For maximum height, travel and heat control, a 2 inch to 3 inch adjustable remote reservoir kit is the pick for hard touring.

The takeaway: match the kit type to how you load and drive, from a simple block spacer to a remote reservoir setup for serious off road.

What is the difference between standard and remote reservoir shocks?

A standard twin tube shock is more than enough for sealed roads and light dirt. On sustained corrugations, sand and high speed touring the oil heats up and the shock fades, which is where the vague, bouncy feeling comes from. A remote reservoir shock adds a separate reservoir of oil and gas, increasing oil volume and cooling so damping stays consistent when a standard shock would fade. If your N90 lives on rough tracks, the remote reservoir kit is worth it. If it mostly commutes and tours light, a quality standard kit is the sensible spend.

The takeaway: remote reservoir shocks earn their price on hard, hot, corrugated work; standard shocks are plenty for road and light dirt.

Which brands and coils does Fulcrum stock for the N90?

Because Fulcrum is a specialist rather than a single brand store, we spec the kit to your ute rather than to what we happen to sell. The Formula 4x4 range covers the ReadyStrut and remote reservoir kits, and front coils are available in different rates, for example King Springs N90 coils, so the lift height matches your front accessory load instead of sagging back down. Getting the front coil rate right is the step that decides whether your lift holds its height with a steel bar and winch fitted.

The takeaway: the coil rate matters as much as the shock, and we match it to your accessory load so the lift stays where it should.

Do I need anything else fitted with a lift kit?

Usually yes. Lifting the front of the N90 changes caster and camber, so most 2 inch and taller kits should be paired with geometry correction: adjustable upper control arms or camber and caster correction parts, plus longer or adjustable sway bar links to suit the height. Skipping this is what causes twitchy steering and uneven tyre wear after a lift. When Fulcrum fits your kit we align the ute and spec the correction parts as part of the job, which is covered in our guide to N90 Hilux upper control arms.

The takeaway: budget for geometry correction and an alignment with any 2 inch or taller lift, so the ute steers straight and protects its tyres.

N90 Hilux Lift Kit FAQs

Looking for more information about N90 Hilux lift kits? Below we answer the most commonly asked questions

How much is an N90 Hilux lift kit?

It depends on the kit and whether it is fitted. A block spacer is the cheapest, a 2 inch standard kit is mid range, and adjustable ReadyStrut or remote reservoir kits cost more. Every N90 product on our site shows the part price and the fully fitted Click & Fit price.

Is a 2 inch lift enough for a Hilux?

For most owners, yes. A 2 inch lift with matched coils and shocks restores height, adds control and clears larger tyres. Go taller only if you need the extra clearance and travel for harder tracks.

Do I need a GVM upgrade instead of a lift?

If you regularly run at or over the factory limit, a GVM upgrade is the correct choice because it is sprung and certified for the heavier weight. See our N90 Hilux GVM upgrade guide.

Will a lift kit affect my ride quality?

Fitted correctly with the right coil rate for your load, a good kit improves ride quality loaded. A poorly matched kit rides worse, which is why matching and fitment matter.

Can Fulcrum fit my lift kit?

Yes. Buy online and have it fitted and aligned through Click & Fit at a Fulcrum workshop or one of our 200+ national fitting partners.

Do lift kits come with a warranty?

Yes. The Formula 4x4 kits are backed by warranty, and Fulcrum stands behind the fitment. Ask in store for the terms on your chosen kit.
