Chrome non-power fold towing mirrors combine extended towing visibility with a polished chrome finish. Designed to replace the original side mirrors, they provide a wider viewing position when towing while remaining suitable for everyday driving when retracted.

When towing a caravan, trailer or other wide load, standard side mirrors may not provide the rearward visibility you need. Extendable towing mirrors move the viewing position further out from the vehicle, helping you see more clearly alongside and behind your load.

Non-power fold refers specifically to the folding mechanism. These towing mirrors do not use an electrically powered folding function, although other mirror features can vary depending on the individual application.

Why Choose Chrome Towing Mirrors?

Chrome towing mirrors provide the same core towing function as other extendable mirror finishes while offering a distinctive exterior appearance.

The polished chrome housing can complement other chrome exterior details and provides an alternative for drivers who prefer a brighter finish over black towing mirrors.

Appearance, however, should not be the only consideration when choosing replacement towing mirrors. Correct vehicle fitment, extension, adjustment and compatibility with your existing mirror functions are equally important.

Choose the finish you prefer only after confirming that the towing mirror configuration is suitable for your vehicle.

Extendable Mirrors for Better Towing Visibility

Towing a load that is wider than your vehicle can restrict the view available through standard side mirrors.

Extendable towing mirrors help address this by moving the mirror further out from the side of the vehicle. This provides a wider viewing position to help you monitor the area alongside a caravan, trailer, boat or other wide load.

When additional visibility is required, the mirrors can be extended outwards into their towing position. When towing is finished, they can be retracted closer to the vehicle for everyday driving.

The mirror angle should also be adjusted for the driver and towing setup before travelling. If your towing setup changes, check the mirror position again to make sure you have an appropriate field of view.

What Does Non-Power Fold Mean?

Non-power fold describes the way the mirror housing folds towards the vehicle.

Unlike power-fold towing mirrors, non-power fold models do not use an electric motor to perform this folding movement. Where folding is supported by the mirror design, the housing is folded manually.

This should not be confused with mirror-glass adjustment.

Depending on the application, chrome non-power fold towing mirrors may still support electric adjustment and other functions. Available features vary across the range, so a non-power fold mirror should not automatically be considered a fully manual mirror.

Likewise, the extendable towing function is separate from the folding mechanism. Non-power fold towing mirrors can still extend outwards to provide additional visibility when towing and retract when that additional width is no longer required.

Non-Power Fold vs Power Fold Towing Mirrors

The key difference between these mirror types is the folding mechanism.

Power-fold towing mirrors provide electrically operated folding on compatible applications. Non-power fold towing mirrors remove this powered folding function while retaining the fundamental purpose of an extendable towing mirror.

Which option is appropriate depends on your vehicle's original equipment and the features you want from your replacement mirrors.

If powered folding is not required, chrome non-power fold towing mirrors provide extended towing visibility without the electric folding mechanism.

Always check compatibility rather than choosing solely on appearance or assuming that power-fold and non-power-fold mirrors can be used interchangeably.

Choosing the Right Chrome Towing Mirrors

Towing mirrors are application-specific, making correct fitment the first priority.

Check your vehicle details and compare the functions of the existing mirrors with the specifications of the replacement towing mirrors. Different applications within the chrome non-power fold range can offer different mirror functions.

Depending on the individual product, these functions may include electric mirror adjustment or other vehicle-specific features. Availability varies, so always check the product specifications rather than assuming a particular feature is included across the complete range.

You should also consider your towing requirements. Extendable towing mirrors are particularly useful where the width of a caravan, trailer or other load restricts the view available through the standard mirrors.

Selecting the right configuration allows you to gain the additional towing visibility you need while maintaining appropriate functionality for everyday driving.

Towing Mirrors for Everyday Driving

Chrome towing mirrors are designed to remain fitted when you are not towing.

Once additional towing visibility is no longer required, the mirrors can be retracted closer to the vehicle for normal driving. This provides a more permanent solution than temporary towing mirror extensions that need to be fitted and removed for each trip.

The chrome finish also allows the replacement mirrors to become part of the vehicle's exterior appearance rather than looking like a temporary towing accessory.

Periodically check the mirrors and mounting points and make sure the extension, retraction, adjustment and any other supported functions continue to operate correctly.
