MCA Pro Comfort coilovers are height and damping-adjustable suspension systems developed with everyday street driving and ride comfort as the priority. They combine springs and dampers into a matched suspension package, allowing drivers to change their suspension setup while retaining a strong focus on comfort for regular road use.

Unlike coilovers developed primarily around track performance or an aggressively firm suspension setup, MCA Pro Comfort is positioned towards drivers who want a more controlled suspension without making everyday ride quality secondary. The range is designed, developed and assembled in Australia, with tuning intended to provide an enjoyable balance between comfort and handling for street applications.

MCA Pro Comfort kits incorporate Fusion Valving, monotube damper construction, 12-click damper adjustment and adjustable ride height. Exact specifications and additional components can differ between applications, so individual product information should always be checked before selecting a kit.

Comfort-Focused Suspension for Street Driving

Choosing coilovers does not automatically mean choosing the firmest suspension available. Spring rates, damper valving, suspension travel and the way these elements work together all influence how a vehicle behaves over real road surfaces.

MCA Pro Comfort is specifically developed around a comfort-first approach while still providing the suspension control expected from an adjustable coilover system. This makes the series particularly relevant to drivers whose vehicles spend most of their time on the road and who want adjustability without moving directly towards a more performance-focused suspension setup.

Fusion Valving

A key part of the Pro Comfort design is MCA Fusion Valving. Damper valving controls the movement of oil inside the damper as the suspension compresses and rebounds, influencing how quickly and firmly suspension movement is controlled.

MCA uses its Fusion Valving in Pro Comfort dampers as part of the series' focus on maintaining ride comfort while providing controlled street handling.

Rather than viewing firmness as the sole measure of suspension performance, the Pro Comfort approach is about matching damper behaviour to its intended street application. This allows the suspension to manage vehicle movement while remaining suitable for regular driving over varying road surfaces.

Monotube Damper Design

MCA Pro Comfort coilovers use a monotube damper design. In a monotube damper, the working piston operates within a single main cylinder, with the oil and pressurised gas separated internally.

MCA uses monotube construction across its suspension range and identifies advantages including improved oil cooling and separation of the oil and gas, helping maintain more consistent damper operation.

MCA also tests and tunes its dampers on a damper dynamometer during assembly. This provides a way to measure damper behaviour and check consistency before the suspension is supplied.

12-Click Damper Adjustment

One of the most useful features of MCA Pro Comfort coilovers is their 12-click hard-to-soft damper adjustment.

The adjustment changes bump and rebound damping together rather than providing separate controls for each. According to MCA, the adjuster regulates the amount of oil that can bypass the damper's valving system. Moving towards a harder setting restricts that oil flow and produces firmer damping, while a softer setting allows greater flow for softer damper behaviour.

This gives drivers a practical adjustment range without requiring the more complex setup associated with independently adjustable bump and rebound dampers.

Damper adjustment can be used to fine-tune how the suspension feels and responds, but harder is not automatically better. The appropriate setting depends on factors including road conditions, tyres, vehicle setup and driver preference. Starting from the recommended setup and making measured changes provides a more useful approach than simply selecting the firmest available setting.

Ride Height Adjustment

MCA Pro Comfort coilovers also provide ride height adjustment, allowing the suspension height to be set within the range provided for the specific application.

On Pro Comfort systems, MCA specifies height adjustment through the spring-seat position. The available adjustment range can vary between applications, so there is no single ride height range that should be assumed for every kit.

Ride height should also be considered as part of suspension setup rather than purely as a visual modification. Changing vehicle height affects suspension geometry and available travel, and an excessively low setup can compromise how effectively the suspension operates.

For this reason, the appropriate ride height should take into account how the vehicle is actually used, along with clearance, suspension travel and wheel alignment.

MCA Pro Comfort vs Performance-Focused Coilovers

The main reason to choose Pro Comfort is not simply that it is an MCA coilover. It is where the series sits within MCA's suspension range.

Pro Comfort prioritises comfortable street driving while retaining adjustable damping, ride-height control and more handling capability than its comfort-focused positioning might suggest. It is intended for drivers who want an adjustable suspension system but do not need their setup to revolve around aggressive street or track driving.

That distinction matters because suspension selection should start with intended use rather than choosing the most performance-oriented option available.

Drivers who place greater emphasis on sharper, more performance-focused street behaviour may be better served by another MCA series. Pro Comfort is aimed at a different balance: keeping comfort high while providing the adjustment and suspension control of a dedicated coilover system.

Choosing the Right MCA Pro Comfort Kit

MCA Pro Comfort kits are application-specific, and not every kit has an identical specification.

Before purchasing, check the individual product details for:

  • Vehicle fitment and applicable configuration
  • Available ride height range
  • Application-specific mounting arrangement
  • Camber adjustment, where provided
  • Damper adjuster access or extenders, where applicable
  • Any other vehicle-specific installation requirements

Some Pro Comfort applications can incorporate features such as camber-adjustable top mounts, camber adjustment washers or reinforced lower mounts, but these are not universal across the range.

Checking the exact product specifications is therefore important even when two kits belong to the same Pro Comfort series.

Installation, Setup and Wheel Alignment

Correct installation and setup are essential when fitting adjustable suspension.

Ride height needs to be established appropriately, fasteners must be tightened to the correct specifications and the dampers should be set to suitable starting positions. Any application-specific setup instructions supplied with the kit should also be followed.

A wheel alignment is recommended after coilover installation, particularly when ride height or suspension geometry has changed. Alignment allows relevant wheel angles to be checked and adjusted where the vehicle provides the necessary adjustment.

Professional setup can also be useful if you are unsure how to balance ride height and damper settings for your preferred driving characteristics. The goal is not simply to install adjustable components, but to configure the suspension so those adjustments work together effectively.
