A Mazda BT-50 GVM upgrade costs $6,040 to $9,815 fully fitted at Fulcrum Suspensions. For the current BT-50 from 2022, the 3700kg Formula 4x4 kit is $6,040 fitted. The 2011 to 2020 BT-50 starts at $6,925 with a 3500kg Lovells kit. Already registered utes add $1,265 for engineering and a modification plate.

The price of a BT-50 GVM upgrade depends first on which BT-50 you drive. The current Isuzu-based model and the earlier Ford-based model use completely different kits, and within each there’s a choice between standard, adjustable and cooling-upgraded packages. Here’s the full BT50 GVM upgrade cost for every kit we fit, with nothing left off. Compare them all in our range of Mazda BT-50 GVM upgrades.

All prices are fully fitted, include GST and are as listed in October 2026.

Costs Beyond the Kit

Post-registration engineering: If your BT-50 is already registered, add $1,265 for the engineer’s inspection, modification plate and registration update. Pre-registration upgrades on a new BT-50 include the engineering at no extra charge.

Upper control arm kit on Lovells kits: Optional at $1,095, and compulsory with a post-registration GCM upgrade. The Formula 4x4 3700kg kits already include an upper control arm kit.

Tyres: Check your tyres carry a load rating that suits the upgraded axle loads.

Every fitted price already includes the wheel alignment, plus a suspension check, a visual brake inspection and a written report through Click & Fit. At Fulcrum’s own Service Centres, you’ll also get a free 1000km check-up.

Which BT-50 GVM Kit Should You Choose?

For most owners of a BT-50 from 2022, the Formula 4x4 3700kg kit is the stand out. It’s the lowest fitted price, gives the highest GVM, lifts both axle ratings and carries a 5 year / unlimited km warranty. Choose the F4R version if your load changes a lot from week to week, and the Lovells 6200kg GCM kit if you tow a heavy van in NSW or Victoria.

If you’re not sure you need an upgrade yet, start with a $90 GVM & Towing Assessment. We’ll weigh your BT-50 axle by axle and tell you which kit, if any, makes sense. You can also work out your current headroom with our guide to Mazda BT-50 payload. Our guide to the Mazda BT-50 GVM explains the factory ratings, and if you tow heavy, our BT-50 GCM guide shows when the Lovells GCM kit is worth the extra cost.
